What tune was number one the day you were born?

I realized my error.

Daydream Believer reached #1 on the Billboard charts the week ending 12/2/67. It stayed there for 4 weeks, being knocked off at the end of the month (week ending 12/30) by The Beatles’ Hello Goodbye. Presumably, both you and Lady Fried were born sometime in December of 1967.

For 10-14-1973:

“Angie” by the Rolling Stones.

Cool band. I’ve never heard this song, though.

Go on, get out, get out of my life
And let me sleep at night
‘Cause you don’t really love me
You just keep me hangin’ on…

“You Keep Me Hangin’ On”
The Supremes
11/18/66
(Holland-Dozier-Holland)

I knew Lamont Dozier’s son fairly well in high school. :dubious:

Well, it’s a George Harrison song, which means it sucks because I was born in 1988. However, I’ve never heard it. It’s called “Got My Mind Set on You.” Blegh.

“I Want To Know What Love Is”, by Journey

1/29/85

psssst: That was Foreigner, not Journey.

Ugh, “Rock with You” by Michael Jackson

Some of these songs are pretty cool … and some are horrifying. I got “Cathy’s Clown” by the Everly Brothers, at least I’m grateful not to have been born during the Disco era.

carnivorousplant, I am slightly younger than you but I know that Nelson Riddle is an arranger/composer, best known (to me) for his score of the TV show Batman. I remember his name from the credits.

Sir Duke, Stevie Wonder. (5/28/77)

Why have I never heard this one… hmmm… doesn’t ring a bell…

“I Write the Songs” by Barry Manilow (January 14th, 1976)

Never heard of it.

1969 … “Get Back” by The Beatles (5/23/69)

Aw, jeez.

June 7, 1978 - John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John, You’re The One That I Want

:smack:

April 10th, 1977. According to the link in the OP it was “Don’t Give Up on Us” by David Soul. I have no idea what this song is, and have never heard of David Soul for that matter. Unlike almost all the other 70s songs in this thread. How come something good like “Angie” wasn’t popular when I was born? Or even that Barry Manilow song, at least I know that one.

“Sherry” by The Four Seasons. October 6, 1962. (WTF?!?!)

aw! how come everyone else gets “beat it” or “rock with you”?

dammit!

(insert a little nelson muntz) ha ha!
(and let’s not talk about where i’m inserting my muntz, please)

“Windy” by the Association

Lesseeee… March… 4th… 197

“Seasons in the Sun” by Terry Jacks

(Actually, I kinda like the song, but I don’t thikn I know anyone else that would admit to that).

“Memories Are Made of This” by Dean Martin

01/08/56

It’s not Elvis (who has the same birthday) but old Deano isn’t so bad.
