What TV Shows do you wish were still on the air?

How ‘bout the "Olsen Twins’ Super-Power-Hour"
Or maybe “America’s Funniest Painful Tragedies that Didn’t Happen to You”
If not, then I will settle for “Baywatch - The Jersey Shore!”

Of course, I’d also love it if NBC found some lost Pre-Diane/Sam-hooking-up-Coach-still-alive Cheers episodes

In the meantime, I am sticking with the Simpsons.

Once in a while you can get shown the light
in the strangest of places
if you look at it right…

Twin Peaks.
The Ellery Queen Show.
Hill Street Blues.

Armed, dangerous…
and off my medication.

The Family Guy.

Crusade. I was really curious to see if the second season would rock, like the second season to Babylon5.

DS9. Just when the show was getting really good, it got the axe.

Gargoyles. I think a version of it’s on Saturday mornings, but I gotta work. <sigh>

American Gothic.

Picket Fences.

The John Laroquette Show.

MST3K.

You say “cheesy” like that’s a BAD thing.

They cancelled “Family Guy”?!?! Bastards!
MST3K
In Living Color
Straight Dope
Roseanne (the early years)

“Hear the voices in my head, I swear to God it sounds like they’re snoring”

The Good Guys (late 60s, with Herb Edelman, Joyce Van Patten and Bob Denver)
Laverne & Shirley especially with Lenny and Squiggy!
The Steve Allen Show (local variety show, weekdays at 11:30 p.m.)
El Show de Iris Chacon in Spanish; she was the sexiest showhost I’ve ever seen!!

Night Court.

And a lot of others already mentioned.
– Sylence

And now, for my next trick, I will talk in spooky half-references.

3 cartoons.

Kidd Video
Hyperman

Calamity Jane

Where can I find these last 2 series on tape?

Calamity Jane was the best drawn series ever to hit Saturday morning!!!

(And the sexyist cartoon babe to hit American TV ever)
:0

Is an appreciation of beauty a function of the human soul?

Night Court, MST3K, and The Monkees.

Yes, I like the Monkees. I like them alot. Feel free to insult me as you see fit. There’s nothing that any of you could say that I haven’t already heard.

Cheers
Seinfeld
Joannie Loves Chachi (kidding)

The Family Guy [sigh] WHY was that cancelled? It could’ve been another Simpsons. Hellooooo…“Fast Animals, Slow Children” (with the cheetah chasing the toddler)? I almosted pissed myself laughing!

BTW-I thought my brother and I were the only ones with a morbid fascination with Small Wonder. It’s got a car accident quality to it–you just can’t look away.

“They have the internet on computers now.”–Homer J. Simpson

Benson.

How good was the Straight Dope show? Years after I saw 2 episodes I still kept thinking of that show and finally did a search on “The Straight Dope” that brought me here.

Anyone remember a show called History Bites on The Learning Channel? That was really good. Hilarious.

Kunilou: I think that the show you are asking about was called “Johnny Bago”.

I hate to admit this but I miss Dr. Who

I can’t believe it was cancelled. I figured it would run forever.

“Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent” Isaac Asimov

I loved “The Carol Burnette Show”. My sister got some tapes of “The Jack Benny Show” for Christmas and I watched it with her. I laughed so hard when i watched it. That show was a riot!

The more you complain, the longer God lets you live.

In no special order:

He-Man
Thundercats
Gi Joe
Transformers (original)
Scooby Doo (damn you, Scrappy!)
That show with the antique show and Nightmare on Elm Street
Earth 2
ST:TNG
Quantum Leap
Highlander (with the same vibe as the first few years)
That show with Quai Chang Kane
I’m forgetting so many…

–Tim

We are the children of the Eighties. We are not the first “lost generation” nor today’s lost generation; in fact, we think we know just where we stand - or are discovering it as we speak.

I hate to use this for my own demented purposes but, does anyone remember a Cartoon on Nickelodeon in the late 80’s called “The Lost Cities Of Gold?” It was a cooperative effort by the Japanese and the French, I miss that show. Does anyone have any info on it? Remember Silverhawks? I don’t miss that show. The toys were stupid. Interesting trivia, the creator of Babylon 5, was also the creator of She-Ra and Captain Power.
That Quai Chang Kane show was either Kung-Fu or Kung-Fu the legend continues.

Indecision is the key to flexibility.
Kyoko Baby,
Shane

Some mentioned already, some not:

Strange Luck
Forever Knight
Quantum Leap
Masquerade
Cover Up
Night Court
Earth 2
Alien Nation
Werewolf (one of the original Fox shows)
Duet (ditto)
Parker Lewis Can’t Lose
Friday the 13th: The Series
Shannon’s Law
Freakazoid
The Exile
Dark Justice
John Laroquette Show
Stingray
Silk Stalkings (with Chris and Rita)

I’ll come back if I think of more.

Your Official Cat Goddess since 10/20/99.

Semper Ubi Sub Ubi

I’ll second Picket Fences. I loved that show.

I’d also like to see Fraggle Rock and The Muppet Show (the original, not Muppets Tonight!). I’d like to see them even in syndication.

And I love Family Guy, too. But I don’t think that it was cancelled forever. I remember reading something about it, and it’s possible that they could bring it back on at a later date. I sure hope they do.

I like to think that John Eric-Hexum wouldn’t have shot himself in the head if “Voyagers” was still on.

Anyone remember the name of the kid character (not the actor)?

“The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson”

I miss Johnny.

The Muppet Show is being syndicated on the Odyssey Channel. Hassle your cable company for it; it’s great to see the old gang again.
