You seem to like the animated shows. Warner Brothers has recently released a 4 disc DVD of Looney Toons cartoons which is great.
Two words: The Shield
Two more words: Both seasons.
Is the second season of The Shield out yet? I was coming to the thread to recommend the first season box set. As much as I love 24 and Six Feet Under, I like The Shield even more. Most intense police drama I’ve ever seen.
Fawlty Towers: The greatest sitcom ever.
Mr. Bean: Think you have to take off your trousers before you put on your swim trunks? You haven’t seen Mr. Bean. Very nearly silent comedy at its best.
The Avengers 66 and 67. These are the two years with Emma Peel. The 66 episodes are in B & W, and are usually considered the better season. 64 and 65, with Honor Blackman are good, too. Avoid 68.
My husband and I share a loathing for everything Rowan Atkinson has ever done that cannot be expressed by mere words.
This will take awhile but Green Acres is coming with a season 1 set. That’s a must for me and for many people I bet.
The Larry Sanders Show. Rip Torn and Jeffery Tambor created two of the best characters ever seen in TV comedy, Garry Shandling did a fine job as well. Unfortunately, HBO has only released the first season (13 Eps.) on DVD so far.
Why stop there? You can also get Season 2 (part 1 and part 2), Season 3 (part 1), “Transformers: Heroes” (contains the three-part “Rebirth” cartoon finale), and Beast Wars: Season 1 as well.

I’ll second Fawlty Towers and would like to add Family Guy to the list, as it seems you enjoy the same animated shows I do (Futurama, and to a lesser degree, Simpsons (earlier seasons at least)
I’m with everyone on The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, West Wing and Cosmos.
Here’s an old one but absolutely marvelous – if it is out on DVD: All Creatures Great and Small. It has to be from the beginning of the series, however, set in the 1930’s. The other series of the same show were not as good.
