What upcoming movies are you looking forward to seeing in the near (six months or less) future?

No lists of movies from elsewhere, please-just your personal must-sees.
Mine is Stop! That! Train! A film that harkens back to the days of Airplane!

Yours?

Disclosure Day and The Odyssey.

Possibly The Mandalorian and Grogu, though I’m waiting for reviews.

Also Godzilla Minus Zero.

Not sure of the time frame, but Space 2, Balls the Money Grab, The New One.

Might not be within 6 months though.

The movie Young George Washington peaked my interest. If done right it could be a very good film, but I really haven’t looked into it.

I am under orders to watch a movie from last year, which is showing in a local art house theater this week, called Silent Friend. It’s apparently a sort of elegy/meditation on a very old gingko tree, and how it affects people. I’m actually looking forward to it. I do really like gingko trees, and it’s rated 7.5 on IMDb.

That’s the only one on my list.

The Odyssey for sure. It’s been described as a “fantasy action film”, and ironically I don’t generally like fantasy films, nor usually the type described as “action” films. But I have high regard for Christopher Nolan, and I’m confident that this is going to be entertaining.

I don’t go to Cinemas anymore, so I will be waiting for these movies to stream:

The Mandalorian and Grogu
The Sheep Detectives
Disclosure Day
Toy Story 5
Enola Holmes 3
Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Coyote vs Acme
Wildwood

Apparently there’s a new Jumanji and another Avengers movie, but those just slip out of the six month range.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Avengers: Doomsday

Nitpick: piqued.

Given the *director’s past work (and he’s also listed as a writer), I wouldn’t hold my breath. Unless you are a fan of the “christian” film industry. I think we’re in for less hard-hitting realism and more faith-based moralizing about how George Washington was really s devout Christian and recognized from an early age that what he wanted most in this world (short of heaven, of course) is a Christian Nation in which men could be free to worship Jesus. You know: Liberty.

As any adaptation of Greek mythology is liable to be.

It (The Odyssey) may well be the only move I see in theaters the rest of the year (I finally broke down and saw Project Hail Mary two weeks ago).

So, to the OP, it’s The Odyssey for me.
[and no others]

*ETA: And oh my god, it’s produced by Angel Studios.

Do you mean Young Washington, put out by Angel Studios?

I worked in the giant-screen (e.g. IMAX) business for 37 years, so I’ve seen every one of Chris Nolan’s films (since The Dark Knight) in an IMAX 15-perf, 70mm film theater, and was looking forward to seeing The Odyssey on IMAX film, as well. But I recently learned that the IMAX film theater closest to me, in Providence, RI, has closed. The next closest is in NYC. (I’m on the North Shore of Boston.)

What’s more, even if I wanted to go to New York, all screenings of The Odyssey on IMAX film in NYC (and most other film theaters showing it around the country) have been sold out since shortly after they went on sale weeks ago.

I’ll probably go to a standard 70mm (5-perf) screening in Boston. Not quite the same experience, but this is one that needs to be seen in a theater. Like @ASL_v2.0, it may be the only film we see in a theater this year.

Yes, now I’m pretty sure it will be a disappointment . Its a shame because there really isn’t a good movie based upon his younger life and he was quite a larger than life character. A shame we have put him on such a pedestal that we can’t appreciate the man he actually was.

Whenever the next Sharknado comes up.

I never watch films in IMAX because the theater nearest me has installed railings that obstruct the bottom portion of the screen. I’d need a booster seat to see over them (and I’m not that short).

Supergirl

Chris Nolan feels that everyone should see his films in IMAX 15-perf 70mm film, but this is unrealistic for many because there are so few IMAX film theaters, in large part because the film handling process is so onerous. But if I were to venture out to a theater for this, I’d consider digital IMAX to be a good compromise – not the same as IMAX film but superior to conventional 70mm film. I saw Interstellar and Dunkirk in digital IMAX and was quite impressed.

Pressure about planning D Day from a meteorological perspective. Brendan Fraser and Andrew Scott star.

Gone With the Wind will be on the big screen in October. I’ve seen the movie 12 times in the theater. I don’t know if number 13 will be unlucky.
