What was going on in other parts of the world when Jesus was alive?

I had this thought the other day and found it quite an interesting idea. We in the occident for the most part only focus on Jesus or things related to his life when studying the history of his time. I’m curious, what was happening in other parts of the world when Jesus was around?

In Asia, the Chinese were already very advanced, right? Was it already the time of Empress Wu?

In Africa, is there any history of the time?

In South America, same?

Just curious…

At that time, the leading civilizations of South America were the Ica-Nazca and the Moche, on the west coast of the continent. In Middle America, the Teotihuacan culture was near its height near Mexico City, and pre-Classic Period Maya occupied the Yucatan. Both areas had had earlier civilizations, including the Chavin in South America and the Olmec in Mexico.
