So what was I thinking? The more bizarre the better.

You were thinking of your irrational hatred of flying monkeys. See, the flying monkeys rescued you as a child, and raised you as one of their own. But the flying monkey children teased you mercilessly, as you could neither fly, nor were you a monkey. As you grew older, you grew to hate all flying monkeys equally. Soon, you began associating them with butts, after an unmentionable accident when some of the thuggish flying monkey teenagers tried to help you “learn” to fly. The rest is clear.
