What was Raymond eating on TV last night?

Last night on one of the many syndicated incarnations of Everybody Loves Raymond the story circulated around a dish that Deborah made that was remarkably good. What piqued my interest was that I had never heard of it.

I did a Google search doing my best to spell it correctly, and retrieved only a handful of sites in italian.

The best I can figure is that the dish is called Fazzole. (Fizzole and fazzol returned nothing.)

Any Italians out there who have heard of this. I assume it is Italian, because, apparently, it is a special dish between Doris and Frank.

She made brasciole.

You’ll also find it spelled braciola and braciole in cookbooks.

Check RecipeSource for several good recipes. This one is more to my taste–some people put raisins in it, which I don’t happen to like.
