What was that painter guys' name?

Bob was the best thing to watch whilst coming off of acid. Ah, I miss those days.

As an aside - the template for this is probably Don Adams, who played the bumbling spy Maxwell Smart on Get Smart, who was a Marine, fought on Guadalcanal, and spent the rest of the war as a Marine Corps DI. (statements that he was he only member of his unit to survive Guadalcanal are unproven)

This is kind of related, but in the second half of the 80’s, when I was young, I remember a show that showed you how to draw. It was just a guy drawing and telling you how. I could swear that Bob Ross would have a small part somewhere in this show where he would do a real quick painting in 3 or 4 minutes. Anyone remember this or am I mixing up different shows?

He used knives to good effect when laying down a base, and also for making spectacular snowy mountains. His largest brush was usually for blending things like clouds and water reflections. I really like his method for cleaning brushes, though.

garygnu: The trick with wet-on-wet is to apply thicker paint over thin. If you try to do the opposite, you end up with an indefinable mess.

I remember that guy too but I can’t for the life of me remember his name. He usually followed Ross, unless there was Sewing with Nancy which can’t possibly still…be…

Oh My God! She’s still on? Anyone else ever watch her?
