What Was the Best View You've Had From a Place You've Lived? What Was the Worst?

I lived on Capital Hill in Seattle. Panoramic view of Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains, and downtown Seattle. Awesome!!

Worst? I’ve lived in a couple of basements. Little windows looking out on driveways and weeds.

Best: College dorm in San Diego, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Beautiful sunsets, whale pods, seals, and surfer chicks.

Worst: Apartment building in Canoga Park, CA. Building like a hollowed-out rectangle, with a pool in the middle, all the apartments looking into the center. Lady opposite us and one floor down was an exhibitionist who would do housework in the nude with the shades up. Her bed was directly in front of the window, and she would entertain men … a different man every few days, it seemed … in a very loud manner. During the throes of passion, she would scream like she was being assaulted. My saintly missionary parents were over one night for a cookout, and she gave us a night to remember. “Don’t look!”, you say? Like a train wreck, one’s eyes were drawn to the scene. “Close your own curtains!” Certainly, but her screams reverberated off the walls of the complex. And she was, without a doubt, one of the ugliest women I have ever seen. I can’t believe I made my wife and daughter live in that horrid place for a year.
