What was the book about the Bush presidency and science?

Hey all,

So… I know this book exists, because I’ve seen it, but I absolutely can’t find it. The book was pretty recent, and the subject was what happened to various aspects of science under the George W. Bush presidency-- funding, research, people who were appointed, etc etc etc. PLEASE just help me find the title of the book… I can really see this discussion veering off into some kind of opinion/debate topic, but I want to keep it in General Questions!! (If that can even be done. But we need to try.)

I don’t know if this is the particular one you have in mind, but a famous book on this is Chris Mooney’s The Republican War on Science that came out in 2005

The Amazon page links to similar books that might include the one you’re thinking of, if it’s not this one

That was the book, YAY! Thanks! I thought that “Bush” was somewhere in the title… probably why I couldn’t find it. Off to do more research!

PS: Chris Mooney isn’t a scientist.

In the interest of full disclosure, he is also not a warrior or a Republican. He is a political journalist, and the book is just what it purports to be-political journalism.

Well, NOW I guess it’s okay if the thread turns into IMHO material. The mods will just move it.
