What was the favourite joke of Dustin Hoffman that Graham Norton told?

Apparently it “crossed acceptable boundaries”.

What word other than say the ‘f’ word is ‘television’s most taboo word’? If it is the ‘f’ word then what’s the problem? The f word is uttered all the time (admittedly under a beep, but it’s obvious every time what the word is, often because what you hear is “fBEEPk”)
And what do people expect? If you are going to watch V-Graham Norton, expect some pretty crude language/jokes, or don’t watch.

I am only curious, the article didn’t show it.

On the subject of beeping swearing - anyone else agree how pointless it is? As I thought of it, all they are beeping is a split seccond of the ‘u’ sound. “fBEEPck”. sometimes they get all of it - “fuBEEPck” or “fuBEEPcking hell” or “shBEEPit” or “wanBEEPker”

I’m sure I’ve heard Graham say “fuck” on the show without a BEEP.

Maybe this is the joke:

Perhaps the word was “cunt.”

Ah. With a little more research it was the “c” word:

http://www.qcinema.org/QAnorton.html

The first time I saw the Cher episode Cher said “fuck” and was not bleeped. Specifically in response to learning Graham had paid 10,000 pounds for a picture of Madonna’s lips she said “what the fuck were you thinking?” On every subsequent viewing Cher was bleeped.

The bleeping seems wildly inconsistent.

I thought “cunt” isn’t quite as offensive in the UK as it is here?

It isn’t, but as I explained in the last thread to discuss it, that word does still get bleeped routinely and is the only one I can think of that is still virtually banned from British TV.

This is a little off-topic, but I was just wondering. How much extra cash do the “So Graham Norton” guests get for affecting the suprised, hands-to-the-mouth reaction that you see on all the promos on BBC America? Do they get bonuses for eye-rolling? Or are they contractually required to do this?
