I remember Mystery Fun House from arround 1981 by Scott Adams you used it to get keys from out of a drain. Are there any earlier adventures that used the gum on stick device?

Well, I remember in an early episode of Cosby Kids they lost something down the storm drain, so they put gum on top of the head of the real tall, skinny kid and stuffed him headfirst down the drain…
