Cars often had ashtrays built into the armrest when I was a kid. I haven’t seen that for a long time.
also to have them in the middle of the rear of the front seat.
Monday bump. Now that people are back from the weekend this has a chance.
My 2001 Toyota Sequoia has them in the rear doors.
We have a nominee. Do we have a second?
My 2009 freightliner mt45 has one in the armrest. It also has a manually operated window crank.
Some cars come with a cupholder and an optional ashtray inset for the cupholder.
I’m just looking to see about the old fashion armrest ones all cars had a few decades ago. It looks like a few vehicles still have that.
Thease are called a “smokers package” if you’re googling.
My '56 Chevy Bel Air has them in the rear seat arm rests.
We bought a Ford in 1982 which had flip up ashtrays in all four arm rests, one just below the radio in the front and one in the back, between the front seats. We tend to keep our cars for a long time and our next vehicles was a 1996 Toyota with only the ashtray below the radio and between the front seats. I guess smoking diminished a lot in those 14 years.
My '85 Chrysler Lebaron had them in the armrest. Also, my '82 Chrysler Cordoba, although it was at the far back of the front door armrest, since it was a 2-door.
The next car I had that had a back seat was a '94 Saturn, and it had the stupid rotating ashtray behind the emergency brake, which was awkward and too small to use, so I kept it filled with air-freshener pellets. This worked well until I let an idiot ride in the back who thought they were tic-tacs.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the new Lacs’ have them. I know the 01 model DTS had them. I haven’t seen a Lac without them.
