What Was the Most You Ate in One Sitting?

Apparently, yes.

Not sure which is more: a 24-ounce bone-in ribeye topped with mushrooms and a red wine reduction, with a side of purple potatoes and sautéed spinach, or about five pounds of crab legs plus hush puppies and various other things from the buffet.

Went to Texas de Brazil with a friend and my sister. Their food format is you pay a set price and then it’s all the meat or salad you can eat. Well since we wanted to get the most for our money, and the meat was so delicious, we both had a small salad and just started to stuff ourselves with every cut of meat they had. Whenever one of us would slow down the other would egg him on to keep stuffing our faces. By the end of it I believe they cleared away about three plates worth of meat trimmings before we literally couldn’t pack any more food down our gullets. The drive home afterward was especially hard for me, and I think for the rest of the evening I just laid around in a stupor.

And I’m going back again tonight!

Eight Big Macs, one large fry, unlimited Coke. I was 17 years old. Two hours later, I was hungry again. (I weighed 155 at the time.)

I love TdB! We’ve gone a couple of times here in SA… first time, I foolishly got the salad and helped myself to the sides. Next time, though, I was on to their wily ways and only got bacon from the salad and ignored the sides and bread.

As for me, once as a kid, I ate an entire bucket of KFC. And sides.

My grandfather, brother, and I used to go to an all-you-can-eat place called Duff’s… I remember being in pain the next day for all the food we ate. But I was much younger and smaller then, so I doubt those meals would win.

Hard to pick one sitting during my binging days:

Two Big Mac, two large fries, vanilla milkshake, three sundaes and two apple pies.

An entire large pizza (I can still do this, and still do it occasionally).

A pound of bacon, four eggs, two servings hash browns, four slices toast, corned beef hash and a hot fudge sundae.

Heh, I use the same “strategy”. Their bacon is definitely heavenly, though I still make sure to eat some lettuce and dressing too. A little bit of roughage helps to clear out the system before the incoming tidal wave of meat, so to speak.

Yeesh, this post just reminded me that I did this too…except it was Hardees not KFC and it wasn’t a bucket but it was, as I recall either 15 or 17 pieces (the size more than 12 whatever that was). I am starting to think there was something wrong with me in my early 20s.

When I was in college I could take down an entire medium pepperoni pizza from Pizza Hut. Or Domino’s. Didn’t matter which.

Tough to say what “the most” is; at 50, I can still eat a 14" Domino’s (or half of an 18" Round Table original crust, which is about equivalent to a 13"), but if I had to guess, I’d say getting through about 3/4 of a “Woody Allen” sandwich (somewhere between 2 and 3 pounds of corned beef and pastrami) at Carnegie Deli (the one in Vegas).

I hiked out of Havasupai Gorge in the middle of summertime and was around a gallon dehydrated by the end, then I drove to Las Vegas to Circus Circus and had the buffet. 5 heaping full plates of meat and bread, plus copious water.

Then, the next day I drove to California, saw Los Angeles, and drove up I-5 toward Oregon, and along the way that day I had…

That was on top of the au jus steak sandwich I had that morning (!) at Circus Circus (that’s the best part of LV from a vacation perspective, the 24/7 ness of it all)

::::hijack:::: and then, I visited my family for our family vacation on the Oregon Coast, and it was only a few days later that I really had a proper

urination.

I was at a barbeque shack somewhere outside of San Antonio. Beef, pork, and chicken barbeque with coleslaw, baked beans and possibly some beer.

I never made to to TdB but I loved Fogo De Chao.

I was probably 14 or 15, so, you know - hollow legs. Typical cookout fare: fried chicken, potato salad, etc. Plus 19 ears of sweet corn. The “winner” ate around 28.

A long time ago I used to go to an all-you-can-eat place that specialized in Scandinavian smorgasbords. Let’s just say I got more than my money’s worth in those meals! Hard to believe I could’ve eaten so much in one sitting, but I did.

Several years ago, Coca Cola bought Inca Kola, and just last month they change IK from *Light *to *Zero *(ten years ago they’d changed it from *Diet *to Light)

A large pizza, fully loaded, and a half gallon of ice cream.

A very long time ago.

In one sitting: Probably 5 burgers with half a family sized bag of sour cream and onion chips.

In one day: 3 bowls of raisin bran, 3 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, 5 hamburgers, half of a regular sized chocolate cake, a peanut butter twix, a bowl of chocolate ice cream, a sausage and pepperoni tombstone pizza with extra pepperoni added, an entire can of grands breadsticks, a double quarter pounder, a supersized fry from McD’s, a large brownie batter blizzard. All of this washed down with a large coke from McDs, and a 6 pack of 24oz pepsis. I was still hungry that night too. This was back when I weighed 347lbs, and realizing how much I ate that day was what made me decide to finally lose weight.

14 overstuffed tacos.

Mmmmm…overstuffed tacos…
