What was this childhood "game"?

This was some sort of elementary school classroom activity. All the kids would put their heads down on their desks, and another kid would write one their names on the blackboard. Honestly, that’s all I can remember of the “game”, and the only reason I remember it at all is because the girl I was in love with wrote my name on the board. Not much to go on, I know.

Was it, perchance, Seven Up?

I would have said Head’s Up Seven Up, but the way it’s played here is that seven kids start the game. All the kids put their heads down and thumbs up, and then the seven walk up and down the aisles. Each of the seven gets to push one kid’s thumb down. When each of the seven has done that, they all go up to he blackboard and say, “Head’s up, seven-up,” and the rest of the class lifts their heads.

The seven who have had their thumbs pushed down stand up, and each gets one guess as to who put his thumb down. If he guesses correctly, he switches places and gets to stand by the blackboard. If he guesses incorrectly, he sits down.

Let the kids repeat until inside recess is over or you get tired of it.
