What was this game?

When I was a kid I had a game where you had to wind up some kind of knob, I think, and then put a bunch of little plastic pieces into a plastic board with indentations shaped like the pieces. You had to get them all in there before a certain time, and then after that time was up, the plastic board would spring upwards and scatter the pieces everywhere.

What was this? It’s basically impossible to Google, with the information that I can remember.

Was it Perfection?

That seems to be it. Thanks.

Great, now I have that damned “Pop goes Perfection!” song in my head. But only that one line. Thanks.

You can tell someone’s age by which Perfection jingle they know. “Pop goes Perfection!” was from the 90’s, but I still remember it as (and new we see what I can do from memory):

When you’re into Perfection, you keep on your toes
You have to be quick, because here how it goes
Push the plunger down, set the timer
Put the pieces in place, don’t be slow
With Perfection you gotta move real fast, move real fast
Or else the pieces’ll pop up before you put in the last
That’s Perfection!

Bah!
Perfection was for kids, we played Superfection!

Same here! It got stuck in my head as soon as I read the thread title before even entering the thread.

Pop goes Perfection!

Was anyone else unimpressed with that game? It’s either win or lose. You can’t lose and then see how well you did, nor can you win and see how much time left you have. And after 3 or 4 times playing it, it’s really easy. I’d rather play Boggle.

I hate you now. I had good music stuck in my head, and that’s a rare thing. And now it’s gone.

Put the pieces into the slot
Make the right selection
But be quick - you’re racing the clock!
POW! POP goes Perfection!
