At least I think it was NPR. Probably in the 80s. It was some kind of variety show with an eclectic blend of music, and one of the two hosts was a classical music dj, maybe Bennett something, or something Bennett. It’s been decades since I heard it, and remember liking it. I wish I could be more vague ![]()
This program has aired in one way or another since 1953. I discovered it on the NPR station in my old town, and then they stopped carrying it. I loved it!
That wasn’t it, but sounds pretty similar. And now I’m wondering if my show wasn’t on a college station.
American Roots?
Are you talking about A Prairie Home Campanian? With Garrison Keillor?
No, before that. I got to thinking the one guy was Myron Bennett, and he was a classical music guy on the radio, but his bio didn’t list anything like my memory. It may have had a call-in element but that wasn’t the whole show.
Nope ![]()
Where were you when you were listening to it, region-wise? Was it every day or a specific day?
It was midwest radio, weekly I believe. Where it came from, I don’t know. My memory of it is like when Robocop visited his old house- annoyingly vague.
