My first post was December 18th, 1999, and it appeared in the middle of a Masonic thread, answering someone’s question about whether the Knights of Columbus had a young men’s organization similar to the Order of Demolay that the Masons had.
I answered it, then lurked for a couple of weeks before starting my official illustrious career on January 1st, 2000.

I remember my first post was on AOL, in a thread about seagulls eating antacids and exploding. I forgot what I said, but I misspelled a word and was made fun of for the next ten posts in that thread. I avoided SDMB until they returned on the net.
