What was your university major?

Anthropology, with my concentration in Archaeology. I never switched majors, but I didn’t declare until I absolutely had to (3rd year year). I also had a minor in Theater.

I also have a JD (law degree).

I have a 4 year Architecture degree.
I’m currently an inventory analyst.

BS Electrical Engineering, 1984; BS Computer Engineering 2005.

Aerospace Engineering. (Tip: if you’re interested in aerospace, major in Mechanical instead. Actually I recommend majoring in international business.)

BS in pure mathematics, BA in philosophy (concentration in logic and the philosophy of science). Trying to figure out what happens next, academically.

Double majors in mechanical and electrical engineering. Dropped out in my second year because the school couldn’t keep up with me.

I got bored because I was ready to move on to the next lesson, but had to wait for my other classmates to “master” the lessons.

Applied and was accepted at MIT. Did not attend because I decided then I wasn’t ready to return to college. After 20+ years, still not ready to return!

Started as a Business major, then over the years switched to Criminal Justice, Geography, NMD, and finally ended up with a major in Anthropology with dual minors in Sociology and European History.

BSc AI and CS. Hopefully will have a PhD in CS this time in nine days

English.

Good for you!

M.Sc in Computer Science.

I started in Psych but moved to Education.

BA in anthropology, with a focus in religious studies.

I’m also VERY VERY nearly done with my MPP (master’s in public policy), with a focus in international development.

I started out as an undecided major, leaning toward going into law school. I quit after my sophomore year and worked for 7 years. I then went back. I had planned to take a degree in Police Science as I was working in law enforcement at the time, but as I read through the catalog, I found a degree plan in the School of Business for Management Information Systems. I thought hmmm…looks like it pays more and computers don’t shoot at me.

So my degrees is a BBA with a concentration in MIS. I’ve been working on an MBA off and on - mostly off - since then, same general area.

Currently I am a liberal arts major in community college. My goal is to transfer either in the Fall or Spring semester next year. If I go to state college, I will most likely major in Bio or Chem, unless I have a brain injury and suddenly decide I want to be an accountant. If my current school had a science major, I’d be in that instead of liberal arts. These wishy washy contemplation classes are killing me. SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME SOME HARD FACTS!!!
When I first went to college when I was 18, I majored in English and I still have no idea why. I hate English classes. I dropped out before the first semester was over because I hated the school, my professors, and the major. I also realized that one thing that I can’t stand is young college students (even when I was one). I still hate the majority of the young college students I have met.

The second time I majored in education even though I have no interest in becoming a teacher. This choice was because the school I went to had a special Saturday only program and they had very limited majors. I was desperate to return to school and business or paralegal didn’t appeal to me at all so I went with education. I ended up having to leave for back surgery.

Started in journalism, realized I hated it, went with psychology, which I was actually interested in.

Finishing up MA in HR management. Should have went for MBA but I am actually starting to tire of school. Come December I will have time to read for pleasure again and I will be happy.

Civil & Highway Engineering Technology
and, 23 years later,
Public Administration

I changed my major eleven billion times.

Started as a creative writing and Spanish double major.

Switched to English and Spanish.

Switched to Philosophy and Spanish.

Switched to Psychology and Spanish.

Majored in… drum roll

Spanish.

As a freshman I was a geology major. That lasted only through the introductory course, when I discovered that I hated to work outdoors. (Why I ever wanted to be a geologist in the first place is a mystery to me.)

So I switched to Applied Physics at the end of my freshman year when a sophomore showed me what a neat optics class he was taking for that major. And that’s what I ended up getting a degree in.

Electrical Engineering, switched to music theory for the win. Now I use both. If only there had been a major that combined them, I wouldn’t have had to switch.
