What will fill this hole in my mouth?

I had one of my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday. Pretty much pain free. My cheek is a little swollen today and the inside of my mouth is tender but that’s it. (I’ve got Demerol. ) So what happens now? Am I going to permanently have a hole where my tooth once was? Will my gums grow over it and close it up?

I had a rather pleasant experience overall. A little numbing medicine and some nitrous oxide and I was doing just fine. Anyone have any horror stories of getting their wisdom teeth removed?

No horror stories here - it was a piece of cake. Had two removed at the same time, and the voids appear to have filled themselves. I don’t even miss 'em!

No horror to report. Had all 4 done in a 1 month span. The holes go away, the soreness is gone in a day or 2, and you never miss them.

I had a pretty extreme wisdom teeth experience. At the same time that the doctor removed all four, he took a biopsy from the back inside of my cheek. To help everything heal cleanly, he sewed my cheek right to my gums. I took about a week before eating “normal” food again, but after a month I had no more pain or difficulties with that part of my mouth. Everything’s been fine so far (6 years?). I had many friends who got their wisdom teeth removed in the morning and played sports in the afternoon with no problem. The hole will soon close and most likely you’ll have forgotten about it in a week.

I had no lasting result from wisdom teeth removal, but I did have another tooth that came in at an odd angle, way down at the place where my cheek joins the gum. I had it removed, and have a permanent hole there.

DAMN!!! I thought this thread was about something else. Carry on…
