What would be todays equivalent of the DeLorean?

I think it’s the Tesla. I mean, the Tesla has a lot more going for it and will most likely be a bigger success, but it has the small-company-produces-a-rare-and-desirable-car-with-cool-factor thing going for it.

Obviously, it would be a highly modified Segway with no speed limiter and plutonium peta-cells in the handle. And, of course, a flux capacitor. The real question is: how far forward would one have to lean to reach 88mph?

Hardly. I had Hotwheels in the 60s that were stranger-looking than the Tesla is.

Well, if part of the appeal of the Delorean was the gullwing doors, then the remake should feature the Tesla Model X, which has falcon-wing doors.

How about a Range Rover Evoque? It looks like it’s doing 88 standing still.

To take a page from Top Gear (original BBC);

A Reliant Robin…

Just make VERY sure you don’t have to take any corners

So you want to go back in time 30 years and surprise a guy with a car that was being made 40 years ago?

You would have to throw out the concept rule, and the cost rule, but the ThrustSSC looks pretty cool, futuristic, and when this baby hits 760mph you will definitely see some serious shit.
