What would happen if....?

I’m starting this thread so that people could ask and answer hypothetical questions. eg: What would happen if I dropped a penny off the Empire State Building, and it hit someone on the head? These are the “Don’t try this at home” kinds of questions.

Of course, some of these may have factual answers, but some may not.

  1. Let’s say I go to the Serengeti and I see a lion who had just finished eating. Lions, of course, are kings of the jungle. They are normally not attacked by other animals. What would happen if I was dropped off about 50 yards from the lion, and then I just charged him. I mean, I’d run full speed directly at the lion while he was watching me. Would he get up and come after me? Would he just sit there and ignore me? Or would he be so shocked that he’d run the other way?

I bet he’d watch with bored disinterest as you got close and when you crossed his personal space border (5’, 10’ , ???), he’d get his feet.

If you continued ahead and touched him you’d be promptly killed and eaten later.

If you veered off and kept running he’d eitehr sit back down or trot after you for a few feet and then sit down. Assuming the lunch he’d already finished was enough; if he was still hungry or bored you’d be dessert.

I think a pack of hyenas would get you before you reached the lion. Vultures would pick up the scraps.
