If he had a personal one on one photo-op meeting with Putin and stabbed Putin in the chest with a hidden knife made of paper and ice, then walked around the world and shook the hand of every Mexican and every Muslim, I would then think…nah, I’d still think he’s a selfish opportunistic fuckwad.
Admit he stole the election and report to prison. That might raise my opinion of him to mere loathing.
If he withdrew his nomination of Gorsuch to the Supreme Court and instead nominated Barack Obama. Then, once Obama was seated, Ginsberg, Thomas and Kennedy retired and Trump nominated Elizabeth Warren, Merrick Garland and Hillary Clinton. That might take the edge off my loathing for him.
"What would it take for you to like President Trump?"
His resignation and retreat into obscurity.
Creating an American economy with a well paid working class. Fixing American infrastructure. Reducing/eliminating America’s reliance on fossil fuels (foreign and domestic) and putting Americans to work producing clean energy (even maybe nuclear?) Allowing middle eastern and South American refugees into the country, getting them in on the new infrastructure and clean energy revolutions. And equal pay for men and women in all these projects.
Then I’ll be pretty ok with him.
That ship has sailed, struck the iceberg, sank, and the old lady just dropped the necklace over the side and died in her sleep.
Like him as a person? Impossible. Give him some consideration as less of a disaster as POTUS? Back off his current positions on immigration and gay rights/equality at the very least. Those two are the largest stumbling blocks I have with him as a President.
Alien invaders come to crush us and he swindles them into entering a scammy business partnership, then shafts them so they end up having their attack fleet repo’ed by the home planet bank and the whole Earth-destruction plan called off as a loss.
Time travel, erasing his present monstrous self from history and replacing it with a semi-decent human being.
Nah, I’d still say fuck him, on the assumption his tale was spun out of alternative facts in an attempt to sway popular opinion.
If he sincerely confessed on national television that he is an evil, mentally unstable, willfully ignorant, sociopathic narcissist, that he rigged the election (giving abundant proof), and that Hilary Clinton is rightfully president, that he not only is resigning in favor of her, but he is selling all his assets and giving his entire fortune to charities which will directly address the harm he has done.
And then instantly made good on everything he just said.
That’d do it.
His assassination. I’d love him then.
Trump would have to nominate a centrist to the Supremes. Get rid of Bannon and the other over the top right wing racist shitheads in his cabinet, start appointing some qualified people to lead departmarts, call out Betsy DeVoss as being a brain fart, etc. Pivot to the center and act presidential.
Ain’t gonna happen
i’m past the point
of no-o return
Well, he could wire a million dollars to my overseas bank account.
In 4 years, if we aren’t at war with anyone, the economy hasn’t collapsed and we aren’t in the middle of a civil war or constant race riots, I’ll be like “Trump wasn’t so bad”.
Why mot start a thread entitled “What would it take for you to like Adolf Hitler” or “What would it take for you to like Bernie Madoff”? There pretty much is not anything, because our so-called president is completely, utterly, totally incapable of making me like him.
Too late for that now.
Two weeks ago I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, that he might have been bluffing on the extreme stuff and reasonable like any Republican on everything else. Still not great, for my politics, but tolerable through gritted teeth.
Hoo boy. The opposite happened. And worse. There’s no forgiving any of that. Not now.
*I am not American, but as a citizen of the world his lunacy still can affect me
I do not understand the question.
Giving Trump the benefit of the doubt is what got him elected in the first place. I wonder how many people who voted for him would like a do-over now that they see you must always take the Clown-in-Chief literally.
