Bravo! Perfect.
There is a mutation to the Toxoplasma Gondii virus. It becomes horrifically virulent, infecting every single person in the world, including the most secluded aboriginal cultures.
Aside from its virulence, the primary alteration to the virus is that it causes humans to become dangerously honest and forthright. Poker becomes a mere game of chance, and nearly every other endeavor involving human interaction is thrust into intolerable chaos as all of our social norms and customs evaporate overnight.
Donald - poor, sweet, strong Donald, who will forever be remembered as the Buddha of our times, is uniquely cursed due to his previous personality, and also uniquely equipped due to his psyche to be the one person to undergo this change and achieve total transformation into a person that succeeds at navigating this new world while somehow coming to grips with what his previous personality has wrought upon the innocent.
His struggles become our guide to surviving, and thriving, in this brave new world of pure honesty and mutual respect.
Short of that, I got nuthin’.
LOL! Yeah that might do it with me too ! Like in “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”
I’m one of the only bitter end #NeverTrump Republicans. I didn’t vote for him and will never like him.
I’ll be happy on those occasions he does something I approve of (I like Neil Gorsuch, e.g.), but I will never delude myself into thinking he’s more than the asshole he’s regularly shown himself to be.
For him? Someone start a Go Fund Me page!
I think that if at some point after it became clear that his policies have caused grave harm to the United States he had a coming to Jesus moment, gave a heartfelt apology admitting all his faults then resigned from office and committed all his wealth and remaining years of his life to undoing the harm he has caused, I might give him another chance.
If he fulfilled his campaign promise to replace the ACA with UHC, that would be a great start.
Yeah, pretty much this, especially the obscurity part. I’ve loathed him since I first became aware of him, sometime in the 80’s, and my opinion has never improved in the intervening decades.
I find I’m mildly offended by the implication in the OP that my opposition to Trump is because I don’t like him. I oppose him because of what he’s done and how he’s done it. My dislike is just the general dislike of horrible people and horrible actions in general, nothing specific to a man I’ve never met.
Trump-the guy that just told a large group of our military, without citing a shred of evidence, that “the media” is covering up terror attacks?
Move this thread to The BBQ Pit, and I’ll tell you.
A thousand times this. Trump is a festering sack of rancid shit because of the things he’s done. He’s spent his entire adult life fucking other people over for his own benefit. Now, he’s finally completed the con of his life, and tricked millions of people into handing him the keys to the White House. He would have to live to 150 and spend the rest of his life doing everything in his power to undo the damage to hope to break even.
It’s possible that Trump will sustain a prolonged stroke and then start actually giving a shit about people other than himself. But it’s more likely that Zeus will descend from Mount Olympus and use his godly powers to compel Trump to be a decent person. People like him don’t typically change their behavior in their final years. Especially when said behavior gets them elected president.
Maybe if he was publicly neutered. Oh yeah, that thing on his head would have to be set aflame. Yeah, that too.
It is almost past the point of no return.
I thought the enormity of actually being POTUS would knock some sense into him but the cavalier and reckless way he is executing his office makes me wonder how he ever managed such a large business.
I doubt I would ever like him because his policies are anathema to me but I could reach a point where I didn’t think he was a buffoon if he buckled down, started doing the work that Presidents must do, rather than see himself as some sort of monarch.
Agree with this and what others have said about him being a terrible person. Additionally, I am flabbergasted that we’ve elected this dude to the highest office. He shows no leadership aptitude or skills at all. He’s intensely negative and fear-mongering. He publicly acts like a two-year old throwing tantrums. Instead of uniting the citizens, he’s divided us. (I’m finding it hard to believe he was a leader in his companies because he acts nothing like any of the CEO’s of the many companies I’ve worked in. I suspect he was nothing more than a financier of those companies.)
He comes originally from being boss of a family company, where he is boss 'cause he owns the joint and he has to answer to nobody.
But for years now he has mostly just lent (well, rented) his name to projects of variable viability/wisdom (steaks, really?), to be the “rainmaker” figurehead who attracts financing and customers on the strength of the name recognition.
I think I could like him.
But I’ve never consumed that high of a dose before and it could be fatal.
I have never had such feelings towards a sitting POTUS in my life as I have for Trump.
Honestly, short of him putting a bullet through his own brain on national television there is nothing he could do to cause me to like him. His very existence is offensive to me.
I’m 47 years old. In my lifetime I’ve seen a fair number of politicians in Congress and the White House whom I have disliked - in both parties. I have never, EVER, felt this level of revulsion towards a fellow human being as I do towards this man.

It is beyond astonishing that, now, Richard Nixon is the fourth or fifth worst president we’ve ever had.
I hated Nixon. I hated Reagan more. I hated Bush the Lesser even more. But this Bozo is off the charts. It’s like a headache, a toothache, an earache…and pancreatic cancer.
Yeah, how does it feel thinking to oneself, hey, Dick or Ronnie weren’t that bad after all… I think that’s Trump’s biggest act of douchery against the Libs
Nixon, W. Bush and now Trump: three of the worst presidents in US history and all of them Republicans. It’s amazing.
