What would you collect if you could?

If I had the money and space, I would collect dishes (teapots, cups and saucers, plates, etc.) and antique furniture. I don’t have the money nor the space. I don’t know what my fascination with these items comes from.

Anybody else have something they wish they could collect? (Jack Batty, we already know your answer. )

Millionairs.

Have any to spare?

That would be a lot of fun I think. Really fine chocolate would be a good alternative.

diamonds, emeralds, rubies, sapphires, Microsoft, Dell, Compaq

Strangely enough, I discussed this with Nen not too long ago and settled on the toes of living celebrities and world leaders. This has a super high creepyness factor and the collection process brings some damn funny images to mind.

Knock knock
“Yes”
“Hello, Mr. George Clooney.”
“Who the heck . . .”
THUNK
“Ahh!! Oh God! My toe! My toe! Ahh!!”
“Heh heh heh . . .”

I would collect supermodels

I would collect people, to come and collect all of the mundane, pointless stuff I own. Or maybe I should just rent a dumpster.

Seated-Liberty half-dimes, dimes, quarters, and half-dollars, from the middle of the 19th century.

Oh, wait, I already do collect those.

More Andrew Lloyd Webber cast CDS. A demo of
Beautiful Game just went on ebay for $147!
If anyone here happens to have one they don’t
want, e-mail me!

I’d collect carved jade. Last time I was in Paris, I saw a gorgeous little jade elephant in a Japanese antique store. It was $100 American, and as it was toward the end of my trip and I was running a little low on cash, I didn’t buy it. It’s one of the biggest regrets I have, truthfully.

I’ve seen beautiful carved jade vases, statues, cups, etc., and I always covet them because most of what I see is way too expensive for me to justify buying it just because it’s pretty.

“I would collect rich people & eat them for their blood is that of the have nots.”

Pre-Raphaelite and Symbolist paintings.

I do collect porcelain hinged boxes. If I could afford it, I would collect the ones from Limoge, however the cheapest ones start at about 200 bucks. :frowning:

I like the concept of a chocolate collection, but I already have quite a collection of body fat;). I really love gemstones, I’d like to have an example of each kind of gemstone in existence. I don’t want to seem greedy, so one of each would be fine (as long as they have a really huge carat weight). One mansion to store them in would be adequate for my needs, as long as it is big enough to house all the crap I already own :D.

I would collect memories of beauty, those rare instances when the earth conspires with the heavens to create an aesthetic masterpiece, or when a lifetime of love and joy and pain dance across an unguarded face. I would collect stories of goodness and unselfishness, simple reminders that deep down we are all creatures of love and compassion.

Or Beanie Babies. I really like Beanie Babies. I want Hugsy Wugsy Pugsy and Wiggly Worm.

Busted. You know me only too well.

Actually I have started a collection - of OP’s in which I am mentioned. I’m up to 3. I keep them in a mason jar in the basement. You can find me down there most nights around 2am, naked, rubbing my hands together and laughing maniacally by candle light with white noise blasting from the stereo at maximum volume.

Does anyone else deal with their collections in the same way?

If I had the money and space, I’d collect kachinas. I just think they’re neat, is all. Plus, I grew up in New Mexico, and I’ve always liked 'em.

Duesenbergs

Art without a doubt, all disciplines and styles, not to exclude the decorative arts or ancient art. I just love the idea of people who create things.

Needs2know

I’d collect more lunchboxes. I use them as purses, and there can never be too many.

I’d also try to collect everything from the movie Edward Scissorhands. still fuming about that jerk on e-bay that outbidded me on the Spanish Edward Scissorhands movie poster
