Cats are not humans and have a completely different referential reality. So I really doubt they’d care much about politics.
But you die on them, and they’ll eat you.
Wife claimed we had an elemental that’s vaguely cat-shaped. MIL was visiting, Nancy Reagan was on the TV, and Doc’s Cat (Doc. “He likes church.” :rolleyes: ) came out of the bathroom spitting out vitriol about the First Lady. “Mom must’ve seen him because she turned and looked, but never said anything.”
That creature had very strong political beliefs, but I agreed with them.
Opposing views I can handle, I’d be more concerned if I found she had opposable thumbs…
I did not read any other posts, so keep that in mind while reading mine. I only posted so folks would think twice before “donating” any more cat to us country kids.
I have cats mostly because idiots in town think that dropping off their older, not so cute kittens out in the country is an acceptable way to dispose of them. The main reason I feed them at all is they do a good job keeping the mice at bay. Their only job is to kill & eat mice. As long as they do their job & do it well, they can stay.
I am an equal opportunity employer, I do not care what color they are. I do not care about any disability they have. I do not care what religion they are. I do not care about their gender issues. I really do not care about their political stands either.
I do care if they quit catching mice. When that happens I have a talk with them about life, liberty, & food rations. So far, this has worked well, & they get back to work.
I do not care about their age, OTOH, if they have been working here for over eight years, I do cut them some slack. Oh yeah, I do get them neutered. I do not need them to bless me with kittens, I only need about three or four cats. Right now I am down to eight.
I did not vote as there was no “I do not care” option.
Amazon has a book that might help some cat owners.
How would I even learn that my cat had political views? If the cat told me, I’d pay much more attention to the critter’s ability to speak than to its viewpoint on current affairs.
He’s simply thinking “If only I were bigger, I could have lots of fresh MEAT”.
