Whataburger vs. In-n-Out

I used to work at Whataburger in high school (They were doing a jalapeno burger promo at the time- the “Whata-Lotta-Hotta” deal. I had to deal with drunkasses at 2 am, making me repeat “Welcome to Whataburger, would you like to try our Whatta-Lotta-Hotta combo tonight?”).
Anyway, the burgers are better than McDonald’s, but that doesn’t take much. I like the Whatachicken with bacon and cheese better than the burgers.
I like Hardees and Jack In The Box for burgers.

Just wanted to mention that, coincidentally, there was an article along this very line in today’s Fort Worth Star-Telegram (registration required).

My vote is for Whataburger, being a Texan and all. But I don’t pass up a burger at In-N-Out when I’m out west.

I haven’t had an In-N-Out burger since I stopped eating meat a few years back, but they were the only fast food burgers I ever really liked then.
Now, if I’m driving with people who want burgers from there, I’ll ask for a ‘grilled cheese animal style’ or sometimes just a grilled cheese with tomato. Animal fries are great too, all smothered in fried onions, melty cheese and thousand island dressing. Mm, arterriffic.
