Whatever happened to manhattan?

Manhattan used to be the mod in GQ back when I started hanging out on the SDMB, and I have many memories of seeing him moderate that forum. However, I don’t remember why he stopped being a mod, and now has left the SDMB all together.

I saw a closed zombie thread in GD today that was moved there long ago by manhattan, and noticed he was still listed as a charter member. However, his profile lists him as not being active since 05/15/2005, and his last post was on 05/07/2005. His post wasn’t a good bye message or anything, and it is hard to do a search for a moderator since they post so much, and are mentioned in so many threads.

So, what ever happened to manhattan?

He showed up at my board back in fall of 2009 for a few weeks (under the username ryevermouthbitters, which I thought clever) before wandering off again. It’s a pity he’s not around so much anymore, I always quite liked him.
