I remember many years ago when he retired, he cited “health reasons,” and that was pretty much the end of it. All the information I’ve found on him pretty much ends with his retirement. No speeches or lecture circuit. Just retirement. Is he still living?
He was born in 1921, so he’d be at most 85 by now.
He retired from the Army at the end of his term as SACEUR(Supreme Allied Commander, EURope) in 1987.
I couldn’t find any obit on the guy, so he’s probably still alive.
