Whatever happened to ''The Fridge?''

William “Refrigerator” Perry. I know he had lots of weight problems and ended up getting cut, what where is he now?

There was a program on ESPN a few weeks ago that featured this question, but I missed it?

Anyone happen to catch it?

Here’s some news on the whole gang:

Chicago Bears Return

Sorry, couldn’t resist

Sports Illustrated had a “Where are they now?” article on him a few months ago. He’s back home in South Carolina, working in the family bricklaying business. He spent most of his money, had fun, but has put it behind him now.

OK, Elvis beat me to it by about 3 minutes.

Anyway, what he said.

Mr. Perry lives in a huge brick home a few miles down the road from me in Aiken, SC, of of US Hwy. 19. He has been active in the community, frequently contributing to local charities and such. He makes the local paper now and then.

It brings to mind another local celebrity that is active in charitable causes. James Brown, raises in Augusta, GA, now lives in Beech Island, SC, also just down the road.

Three weeks ago, William “the Refrigerator” Perry was in Salt Lake City at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Show. He was pushing his new Ice Chest with a separate compartment for sandwiches (so the sandwiches don’t get soggy) He is a huge man. He did get some press on the local SLC TV. But it did not appear as if his Cooler was attracting very much attention. (BTW he did fill up most of the available space in his booth)

What ElvisL1ves and festiva76 said.

Also, he was a contestant on a show of last season’s Toughman on FX. (he got his ass kicked, BTW – he really, REALLY looked out of shape).

Also, it appears he was charged with assault in April of this year after he swung a wooden chair at his wife’s head.

Coincidence? I think not.

More importantly, what happened to his sandwich at McDonalds? I loved that thing…

I remember this guy, didn’t he come and play for some American football team in London? To be honest, he didn’t look much of an athlete

The McDLT apparently wasn’t a big seller. When Mickey’s made the move away from styrofoam boxes back to cardboard, it wasn’t practical to make, either.

'Fridges are kitchen appliances, filled with cold beer & baloney.

I suspect that Mr. Perry is in the kitchen somewheres, filling himself with lots o’ cold beer & baloney.

Hard to believe that they made a GI Joe action figure of him.
