Whatever Happened To The Moonies?

Why don’t we see Moonies selling flowers at the airport anymore? Is it because of airport security? Is it because that religon is now defunct? They used to be big 10 years ago.

The Moonies are still around. In fact, they own the Washington Times.

I think they ran off and got married …

Unification Church

Be sure to have some protien before reading…

I tried getting to that site but there is a firewall. Now my curiosity is up. Especially from you Otto.

They are behind a lot of the extreme right wing politics currently infesting the U.S. government.

And let us never forget this all-important Moonie doctrine:

The “Holy Handkerchief”, which must never be washed?

ewwwww…

I wonder where they stand on the Holy Hand Grenade …

I can’t get to your site either. Must REALLY be bad.
This doctrine of holy hankerchief is gross!!! What if they do it like rabbits? How do you label them? Torrid affair at noon on floor?
Where would you keep these hankerchiefs stored? Maybe I don’t want to know.:dubious:

If only they’d throw themselves on the Holy Hand Grenade…

Is it a one shot deal or do you need a new hankie each time?

What happens with divorce?..do you still keep the hankie?

Do you sue over who gets the hankie?

Can it be any kind of hankie?

In 1997 here in D.C., Rev. Moon performed a mass wedding ceremony in a football stadium. Tens of thousands of people showed up to be married, many of them having never met their new spouses.

I have read that the reason Moonies aren’t nearly as common in the U.S. as they were in the past is because Moon has given the U.S. up as a bad job – he concentrates his activities here on making money while his “religious” work is done mainly in other parts of the world. I have no cite for this – I think I read it in The Washington CityPaper, a local alternative newsweekly. The CityPaper has a regular feature reporting on and critiquing local journalism and so occasionally covers Moon as he owns The Washington Times (as has been mentioned above).
