Whatever

“Whatever” does that mean., like what? or ever?, or never? You tell me “whatever” I tell you “whatever”, now what?

“Whatever.”

TRANSLATION: “Not only am I not in the least bit interested in what you just said, I am not even going to exercise the few brain cells necessary to compose a polite reply.”

-OR-
What-ever: Not only am I at a loss for anything to say as a rebuttal, but I am too stupid and pig-headed to admit that you have a point. Basically, I can’t think of anything intelligent to say, so I am copping out with a lame “whatever”.

-BUT-
Ursa’s definition is great, too, and the one I think is more widely seen on the board.
But what the hell do I know? I’m a newbie.
