I’ve generally found 2T/oz. So, that’s - 320T? That’s hard to keep down, I’ve only ever been able to manage about 1/3 of a cup at a time.
Seriously - next time you’re somewhere that you can do it - try on some sweater or pair of pants or tights (especially tights) in black and then try on the exact same item in white. It’s scary what the white clothing will do - like some kind of fat conspiracy.
[sub]Went shopping today. I hate shopping. It’s just a nasty, depressing way to spend the day.[/sub]
Charmian, I tend to think of “black and white” party or ball as being a motif setting thing (& it looks cool) - and not simply “black tie” which is a formality setting thing.
Biggirl, if I could offer one piece of advice, I’d tell you to make sure your dress and shoes are comfortable. I’d buy shoes whose heels are no more than one inch high, even though you’re short. You might want to buy a dress that is fairly loose. Besides being comfortable, you’ll look better. As my dad put it, “Don’t shove a ten pound weight in a two pound bag”. Good Luck.
Here’s me 'n beerchick. The file is huge. I don’t know how to shrink or in any way alter .jpgs (or any other type of image). Be prepared to wait forever while it loads.
For all you Dopers just dying to know how the night turned out —
I had a really good time! All my whining was unfounded (and annoying). Houseman and I made a gorgeous couple. No, really. Hard to believe, but true. No pics so you’ll have to take my word for it.
The food was fantastic and weight watcher friendly. Speaking of WW, the overzealous ex-state senator was there with his new wife. We have both lost a substantial amount of weight since we last saw each other and so he was overzealous about that, which was fine and funny.
They provided me with reading material! Did you know Brooklyn has the only natural forest left in NYC? That tulip trees are native to Brooklyn and that Brooklyn has the only Urban Audubon Center anywhere? Neither did I!
The music was kicking! The all girl band played old disco tunes and salsa. There was much dancing. Plus there was the never-to-be-duplicated sight of men and women resplendent in expensive jewelry and formal eveningwear riding a 120 year old carrousel.
And just to show our Doperness, Houseman and I seriously considered driving down to Cranford NJ just so we could promenade in our fancy duds at the Fest.
