Whats better than Devil's Spit BBQ sauce?

…or, Texas Pit sauce?

I’m trying to find something that is much better than these two kinds.
(Not A1, even though I like this as well*)

I think you’re taking the title of this forum a shade too literally.

Maybe it’s about time we actually did have a subforum devoted exclusively to barbecue condiments…

Maybe, however, it actually did run through my mind when I read the title of this forum…

For a chain, Dave’s has pretty good sauces. Devil’s Spit works really well mixed with ketchup for a fry sauce.

Love Dave’s sauces. I’ll sometimes get KC Masterpiece in bulk, but I far prefer any of Dave’s for sandwiches and dipping.

I’m originally from Kansas City, so my favorite sauces are:

Jack’s Stack
Gates & Son’s BBQ
Arthur Bryant’s
Oklahoma Joe’s (actually called “Cowtown BBQ sauce”)

You couldn’t pay me to get near KC Masterpiece.

Do the Bacon Salt people make a BBQ sauce?

I’m not familiar w/ Devil’s Spit but Stubbs makes a mighty fine product. Good rubs too.

+1 and fucking good.
and shit.

Now it’s pit…

Fuck all your mamby-pamby, buy your mass produced bottled crap! You ain’t shit unless you make your own pork rub, smoke your own meat, and make your own BBQ sauce! I don’t need a damn “cite” to prove my point. I can have a multitude of testimonials or sworn statements, if you choose, to back up my claims!

and SHIT!
later, Tom.

  1. Rudy’s Original Sause
  2. Stubb’s Original
  3. Dinosaur Sensual Slathering Sauce

Bacon

If we are ranking store-bought sauces, Chris’ & Pitt’s takes the nod from me. Then Stubbs and Famous Dave’s.

Bolding mine.

Preach it Brother!

The KC Masterpiece restaurants around here had some pretty decent smoked meats, but their sauce was about as boring as tomato sauce.

My list looks like yours with the exception of Gates leading Jack’s Stack.

J. T. Pappy’s Hickory Heaven!

Moved to Cafe Society.

This man very clearly knows his sauce. I’ve only eaten there twice, but I love Dinosaur BBQ.

Sweet Baby Ray’s

Do you live in Texas? If so try HEB Specialties Texas Style BBQ Sauce (available at HEB, of course). I like it better than any other mass market sauce I’ve tried. I tend to find most sauces far too sweet though, if you like that sweetness it might not be for you. They also have a Carolina style sauce that’s really good, though I have no idea if it’s authentic or not. If you live in another state, Stubbs Spicy is my favorite sauce that is (I think) available nationwide.

Lea and Perrins used to make a great BBQ sauce, but I don’t think they still do. It was awesome.
