Something happened a few months ago (hacking incident?) and posters were encouraged to change their passwords. I did, but now I can’t remember it. This would be unhandy if I should be logged out.
How can I retrieve my password? I did try to change it yesterday, but I need the old password to do that.

I did this a couple of weeks ago. I don’t remember the exact procedure, but there’s a pretty straightforward way to have a temporary password emailed to you, which you can then use to login and enter a new password.
That’ll work as long as your email address is up to date.
You click Forgot Password and it sends an email to the email address you have listed saying a password request has been requested and click on the link below to reset your password, otherwise ignore this email and it will time out in some number of hours.
At least, that’s generally how it works. The dope may be different in incidentals.
