I just haven’t heard or seen anything from him. Has he commented on it? Is he still acting president? What’s going on with him, anyway?
Maybe I’m not looking in the right places.

He has an interview on CBS Sunday Morning this Sunday. It’s his first interview since dropping out.
He’s still president (no acting about it). He hasn’t resigned. And he just did the prisoner swap with Russia.
He had a pretty public appearance at Joint Base Andrews when his prisoner exchange went through.
Yeah, essentially now that he dropped out he can focus on the actual job of being POTUS without having to campaign anymore, which includes getting political prisoners out of Russia.
He made a pretty major announcement about his proposals for Supreme Court reform.
Honestly, given that we seem to exist in a state of perpetual election campaigning now, maybe one-term Presidencies should just be the norm, so they can do the job without distraction.
Yep- he just isnt that much in the headlines.
He had a helluva time dying and resurrecting! It did not even take him the customary three days.
LOL!
During his illness, there were indeed rumors that he was dead and the family hadn’t announced it yet. It would be pretty hard to cover THAT up, for a gazillion reasons.
Thanks, everyone, for the updates.
This documentary (my favorite “political” movie) begs to differ:
If Mark Kelly ever becomes president it would be even easier.
Or, for that matter, either of the Castro brothers, Juan or Julian.
ahem fictional ahem
When Kamala Harris becomes President, I want Joe Biden to get a Medal of Freedom or Nobel Peace Prize or something for saving the US from DJT : twice
I am not kidding.
Whoosh?
Obviously. Did you really think they were being serious?
Of course Biden will be celebrated some at the DNC and will in turn celebrate the Harris-Walz ticket.
Will he do any other campaigning for the ticket? Should he?
Of course the best thing he could do for the ticket is get an Israeli Hamas ceasefire across the line, and help the region avoid an all out war involving Iran.
“nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people”
(actual quote was more like- H. L. Mencken-"No one in this world, so far as I know … has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people")

How? Hamas has rejected two UN ceasefire proposals. Not even the President of the USA can make them agree.
My limited understanding is that the obstacle now is on the Israeli side. Not a subject to debate here though.
And, I expect, trying his damndest to negotiate a Middle East ceasefire. Something which would have to be done in a very non-public fashion up until / unless it reached the point of public announcement of success.
– I see others in the thread have had similar thoughts; but I’ll post this anyway because of the point that such negotiations can’t very well be public while in process.
Biden’s also doing a darn good job with the economy, basically getting us to a ‘soft landing’ and avoiding a recession, and now getting inflation going down.
Continuing that is probably the best campaigning he could do for the Democratic side.
Provided people hear about it and agrese, true.
