On a separate issue, what’s the story on Ethan Coen’s marriage? He’s straight and his wife, Tricia Cook, is a lesbian. I figure people can marry whoever they want but I think it’s generally more usual for a lesbian to marry a woman and a straight man to marry a straight woman.
I had sort of figured in the back of my mind that they had gotten married back before Cook realized she was gay. And when she did figure it out, they decided to stay married because of their two children and general happiness as a couple. But I just read an article which said Cook had known she was gay several years before she met Coen.
Yes. Furthermore, Ethan and Tricia are quite open about their unconventional, happy marriage. Easily found online and worth looking into- I think their story is inspirational. (Scolding finger waggers notwithstanding.)
I’m wondering what the Coen brothers think a ‘pure’ horror movie is supposed to be. I watched the trailer, and it looks like an enticingly well made crime caper movie with elements of humor. In other words…a Coen brothers movie. But ‘pure’ horror? Seems to be stretching the definition, but I will definitely watch it.
I get on with my brother, we have a great relationship. But if my job involved working with him day-in day-out I’m pretty sure I’d want a break to work with people who weren’t my brother after a few years
