What's in like flying in first class?

The “pod” seats are on the biggest airplanes and mainly on international routes. I am lucky enough to fly for free (on my airline), and last spring the GF and I went to Paris. We got the first-class pod seats on a 777.

It’s the closest thing to a personal transportation vehicle that I can imagine. Little bins everywhere to store stuff (like your shoes), the seat lays completely flat, and there is a “barrier” about 12 inches high that you can erect between you and the aisle when you lie down. The food was wonderful, and for dinner I pulled out a good-sized table and my GF sat across from me while we ate. They actually have another “seat” that someone else can use while facing you. We watched a couple of movies together (personal DVD player in the seat and a special “Y” cord for the headsets so we could listen together).

Altogether the most amazing travelling I’ve ever done (and I’ve done a lot!) Of course, the seats in the VERY front are the best, but I don’t fly the 777 (yet  ).
