I’m in the Navy and I know several friends who have married Filipina wives. They all seem to be very happy. She gets a good home and security, and he is grateful for an attractive, attentive wife.
I’ve generally felt that men marry for sex and women marry for money. That’s why these work.

What nobody mentioned-most Filipinas are Christians…that is not the case with many Asian countries. Compatibility between cultures is often facilitated when the parties share a common religion. I would imagine that muslim women from the south (the Moros) very rarely marry Western men.

OK my 2 cents worth.
I have been online chatting many filipinas since 2007 and all I can say is to most its a ticket out of poverty. Add to this is the fact that in the philippines having a KANO boyfriend is considered a status in their country so they can show off to all their friends. A kano is tagaolog for AMERICANO.
So why do many older men from the west ( I live in canada) go to the philippines? Simple…woman in the west make their own money and so are less needy so are naturally more PICKY on who they choose to be their mate.
Now in my city there are thousands of pinay already here and once they are here they are no different than any other girls. Which proves my point…When they are here they no longer need you so become spoiled bratts like any other girl here.
Bottom line? All these pinay are online because you have something they want…a foreign passport and status in her eyes. Just like they have something you want, and that is a sexy girl that would never give you the time of day in their country as they dont need you. Simple

Yes, Philipina women usually speak English well.
However, IMO, the main reason that western men marry them is that they aren’t western women, and haven’t developed that anti male bias that western women carry around with them ( and probably don’t even know that they do ). They are also feminine and not afraid to show it.
Same reason that thousands of western men marry Thai women.
No doubt there will be those that accuse western men of wanting “sex slaves” and “doormats”, but surprise surprise, Philipina and Thai women actually enjoy sex, and are hardly doormats, though I’m sure I’ll be shouted down for saying so.
I fully expect to be attacked by western women for what I said, though they just prove the point of what I have said.

As a local boy in the Philippines, I can assure you Filipinas can male-bash as well as American women.
notice also how most of the men are old and basically unattractive? They know because of poverty they can find in the philippines what they can never find in their country
I’ll turn that around and say that it took them till they were older to be able to afford to go off to another country and find a woman that they really wanted, rather than what was available at “home”.
It’s more expensive to marry someone from the Phillipines and go through all the legal BS to bring them back, or live there, than it is to marry a local woman that will be expected to earn their own money and contribute to the family income.
BTW, just what is it that “they can find in the philippines what they can never find in their country”? Sounds like a justification for marrying a Phillipina if what men want isn’t available at home.
