What's the craziest thing you absolutely 100% believe?

I believe for every drop of rain that falls, a flower grows. No, wait. That was someone else.

Probably the craziest thing I believe 100% is that Osama bin Ladin did not meet his fate on that Navy vessel. I think he was either killed earlier, and the execution was staged to make it seem that he had died at that point, or he was put in custody to be interrogated with the intent to execute him later. He may even still be alive right now.

Frankly, the secret trial and execution, with the body dumped at sea, is all just way too convenient. It removes the possibility of checking his DNA to be certain it was really him and not one of the Osama impersonators who had been notoriously popping up. Nope, I don’t buy the story for a second. Of course, I feel certain we’ll never know the truth, so we’re all stuck with the State Department’s little fiction.

we are their future food.

This probably isn’t the best thread for debunking but that is not how it worked at all. Osama Bin Laden was killed by a covert operation by Seal Team 6 at his compound in Pakistan with shoot on sight orders which they did. Many other members of his family were not killed and taken into custody or protected in the case of the young children. The U.S. government was sophisticated enough to the claims of conspiracy theorists like yourself to videotape the whole raid included the final kill itself. They also had a Navy Seal lay down with his body to give photographic evidence that it really was him (he was 6’ 4"+ which you can’t just find on the street on demand in Pakistan). They were also careful to take DNA samples for further proof.

The only ship involved was the one that dumped his body at sea within 24 hours in accordance with Islamic tradition. That was done in order not to further antagonize Islamic militants and to prevent a post-kill shrine in his honor.

You can see the raid and kill yourself if you have Netflix on Killing Bin Laden or see footage of it on Youtube. Nothing you described is accurate at all. There was never any trial that involved a ship. He was killed at home in a raid and they dumped the body at sea roughly a day later.

As far as I can tell, debunking is specifically what this thread is not about; as per the OP’s example

Huh. So where did I get my misinformation? Damn. Was there an earlier version of what happened that jibes with my recollection, that was corrected later on?

Well, at least I know that my belief was right. Somewhat.

I believe that TPTB in Major League Baseball will eventually come to their senses and restore the game to pre-DH and interleague regular season games conditions. Those abominations are enough to make a man start following cricket.

In other baseball-related news, I believe my father, who told me that Sandy Koufax retired because his pitching arm was tired. Consequently, I believe that he will one day decide that he’s had enough rest, and will return to the mound for the Dodgers.

P. S. Koufax will return to the mound, not my dad.

I also believe the 2002-2006 elections were fixed, but it wasn’t Rove. A member of the extended Bush clan works for Diebold, and the repug congress at the time pushed through the HAVA, or Help America Vote Act, which stipulated the use of electronic voting machines, of which, until 2005, there was only one legal distributor: Diebold. The exit polls never lie. The guy who invented exit polls committed suicide when the exit poll data from 2004 was ignored, showing that clearly, the US elections were fixed. However, I also believe that this wasn’t the first time. Widespread corruption also occurred under Nixon, and when he won re-election, he won the popular vote by 1 million votes, the same as Bush in 2004. Like Nixon, nobody could identify who those 1 million were, and Nixon referred to them as “The Silent Majority,” which is pretty much synonymous with election fraud.

I also believe that Bush was involved in 9/11 and he also lost the 1999 presidential election (his brother was also governor of florida at the time.) Virtually the only thing that gave him that election was the appointment of Scalia’s butt buddy, Clarence Thomas, by Bush Sr.

I also believe that Bush should be tried for treason, both for the Valerie Plame incident and lying to Congress about invading Iraq.

I believe werewolf and vampire legends originated from serial killers and pedophiles.

Oh and on a more serious note, I do believe an angel gets their wings when a bell rings.

I believe our overblown fears of serial killers and pedophiles have just taken over from the werewolf and vampire legends.

If you think they’re overblown, you don’t know about many serial killers/pedophiles.

The ones you see on TV usually don’t include the worst of real life criminals.

The craziest thing I believe with 100% certainty is that nothing is 100% certain, ever (other than this one belief, of course… otherwise, paradox).

The Politicians have the best interest of the voters in mind, while in office

I believe I’ll have another.

I believe that the foundations of mathematics are consistent.

There didn’t have to be any computer funny business in Ohio. A few weeks before the elections, they removed loads of voting machines from black neighborhoods in Cleveland, where they were desperately needed and moved them to rural areas where they weren’t. As a result, a lot of blacks gave up on the possibility of voting. Now they have a better way; don’t allow them to vote at all.

I completely believe in and follow the “Wood Screw Hypothesis.” The Wood Screw Hypothesis states that there are minute differences in every wood screw ever manufactured, such that if you remove them you make sure each screw goes back in the same hole, to prevent stripping.

Given modern manufacturing techniques the WSH is a nutty concept. But I can’t stop myself from following it. A number of friends have told me I’m off my rocker. In this respect I think I agree with them – but I’ll STILL do it.

My craziest beliefs already have their own thread dedicated to them.

I believe I’ll remember that - no need to write it down.

The main reason that the nation of Israel was created, and we’re “friends” with Israel now, is to ensure the fulfillment of biblical prophecy.

The Red Sox will pull it together and sneak into the playoffs as the second wildcard, and then go on a tear to repeat.

That we are totally living in an oligarchy and anyone who says your vote counts is deluded and naive. Rich white men rule this country, but just a small fraction of them, and they will never relinquish control, and government is in bed with them. Thankfully they at least need us proles to do the work.
