I’ve been searching for it and can’t figure out what’s going on. One site said it doesn’t come out until late 2005. I found what appear to be bootlegs on Ebay, but then I also found this here which looks like a legitimate, official DVD set of Season 5. What gives? Can I just BUY this set somewhere?
It looks like someone dummied up a box in Photoshop. Maybe they have home-burned discs with the episodes, maybe not. In any event, It isn’t an authorized release.
HBO usually releases the previous season on DVD just before the next season begins so buyers can segue right into the new season with all the backstory fresh in their minds. Next season begins in 2006, so late 2005 sounds like the proper release date.
