The only thing I know that distinguishes them is the gold colored band on the sidewall. They’ve been around at least since I was a kid, and seem to have maintained about the same level of popularity.
Is “looks” the only selling point? Have they kept up with tire technology? They’re not listed on performance tire comparison charts that I reference.
They look the same, and I haven’t seen any low profiles with that golden ring. So why are they so popular, even amongst youngsters?
