What's the effect if a female boxer gets hit in the breast?

For the sake of argument, I’m talking about a B-C cup female boxer.

If she takes a punch to the breast is there extraordinary pain? Is there a potential for temporary or permanant damage? Is there an inherant danger? Should female boxers be required to wear breast protection.

I like female breasts. I don’t want to have any of them ruined unneccesarily.

I realize this question doesn’t need to be specific to boxing, it just seems that boxing is an obvious situation for concern.

Since I don’t possess the female breastage, all I can say is, don’t be dissin’ on the A-cuppers. I’m sure that booblets are sensitive, too.

Other than that, I’ll let someone with the appropriate accoutrements chime in.

As I said, “for the sake of argument”. I would never diss an “A” cup. I love them all. I do know, however, that a “Roman” nose on a boxer isn’t going to maintain it’s original appearance as long as a nose with no bridge.

I can’t say for boxing, but in fencing, women wear a hard plastic chest protector.

Why would hard plastic chests need a protector?

In boxing, women wear a similar thing. They sell them here.

Speaking as a breast owner, there would definately be intense pain. As for permanent damage, I had a female friend who was involved in a car crash, (before airbags), in which her chest was thrown into the steering wheel. After the bruising and swelling healed, she was left with very little sensation in her breasts.

My co-worker’s daughter is a female boxer, and I’m rather curious as to the real answer to this question, but much too intimidated to ask her (she has some aggression issues).

I’m not a boxer but am a martial artist, and a boob-owner.

In my experience, a solid blow to the breast hurts, quite a bit. It’s not intolerable pain, and I don’t think it’s on the same level as a guy getting nailed in the crotch, but for most if not all women it is a rather sensitive area. So, it’s not fun but it’s probably not going to bring a fighter to her knees.

There are, as mentioned, various manner of protective gear. In my experience, though, that’s more hassle than it’s worth.

What does the cup size have to do with it?

I’m thinking if a female boxer got hit in the boob, she would punch the crap out of someone fairly soon.

My fiancee also used to practice martial arts and has been kicked in the breast on more than one occasion. When I inquired on behalf of this thread, she said “It hurts enough to motivate you not to get hit again” , but not enough to stop sparring.

She said the glancing blows that scrape past one’s nipple were more annoying than the full on hits (IHHO). She also doesn’t bother with protective gear for her chest except in full contact when it’s usually mandatory for both men and women, but she does wear a jill* after being kicked in the nether regions one time too many.

*Female jock strap, only the “cup” is flatter.

They wear chest protectors, of a few types.

I know that chest protectors for women are available but it doesn’t look like anything other than a very supportive bra is being worn in competative matches. Pro fighters spar with headgear even though they don’t wear them in bouts.

Cup size? Let’s not get hung up on that. I only said that because, like the Roman nose, the larger the target, the more chance to take a damaging blow. It seems obvious to me that a woman with very small breasts isn’t going to worry about a blow to the breasts as much as a woman with larger breasts.

I’m wondering if the chance of injury and pain or the possiblility of permanent damage is enough to warrant the mandating of extra protection.

Boxing and othe martial arts have enacted protection and rules to avoid men getting their testicles ruptured. Do a woman’s breasts warrant similar safeguards?

I’m a former fencer and boob owner. It hurts like hell to get hit in the breast- a glancing blow to the side of the breast just hurts like any other soft tissue (for example, getting kicked in the ass) but a hit direct to the nipple is really, really unpleasant. Not quite as awful, I’m guessing, as being hit in the nads for a man, but pretty damned bad. Rigid plastic breast protectors help… and so, I’d imagine, would having rigid plastic breasts.

Well, you know us guys… it’s all in the visualization.

Technically speaking, I guess that would be a Knocker Out punch.

Oh, come on.
A gal with very large breasts has more tissue to injure, more layers of flesh to bruise. Plus, there’s more stress on the connective tissue when there’s a blow to that area.
It’s not that hard to visualise (or something like that).

Huh? That’s like saying that guys with big balls hurt more than under-endowed men from a below-the-belt punch. Believe me when I say that blow to the female breast hurts just as much whether you’re an A-cup or a DD-cup.
