Update: Over the weekend, Romney praised the Israeli healthcare system…apparently unaware that it is socialist and includes a mandate:
Well he is aware that it wasn’t created by a black, Muslim inteloper, though.
Romney praises the Israeli government-provided health care program. Romney undercuts his own attacks on Obama’s “you didn’t build that” pretend-gaffe by making the exact same point Obama was making.
Romney’s just bad at this whole politics thing. Maybe he was pretty good at the state level, but it’s becoming increasingly more clear that Romney is the Ryan Leaf of Presidential Politics.
It’s crap like this that makes me think Mittens won’t actually do anything to gut or change the ACA if given the presidency, regardless of whatever bullshit he’s been spewing on the campaign trail. The most - I repeat, the most - that I think Romney would do is issue an executive order that would allow states to opt out of the law if they wanted, but otherwise, he’ll just cement the rest of the bill into place. The GOP isn’t going to win enough seats in the Senate to make an all-out repeal even possible, and Romney won’t sign a reconciliation bill that guts the individual mandate and the insurance subsidies because that’ll throw the entire fucking industry into chaos.
None of that even hits on the larger picture, though: Romney would NOT want the first several months of his presidency to be consumed by a health care repeal battle.
Obama is gonna win anyway though; Mittens’s foreign adventures continue to make him look like the biggest doofus in the universe.
