The “motorcycle” picture that has been since removed from rotten dot com, has to be the goriest image I’ve ever seen. That was probably the most infamous pic on that site before it was removed.

Wasn’t it determined that it was a picture of a botched suicide?

Strangely I can handle all the above mentioned stuff to some degree, yet a faked photo almost gave me nightmares for weeks. It was a picture of a woman’s areola with what appeared to be larvae living inside it in a honeycomb-like structure.

Ugh. Same here, gives me shivers just thinking about it. I think it’s on snopes under the title “breast rash”, but don’t say you weren’t warned.

I’ve heard that too. I’ve never really looked into it. The original description was that it was a motorcycle accident, hence it’s title.

Ah, that one. I’m definately not the sort to seek out those sorts of pictures, but I saw it somehow.
Is that something that could have been survivable in the long run? I mean, could he be patched up somewhat?

IIRC, the guy lived and had his attorney get the pic taken down. I could be wrong though.
Edit: I almost had it right.
From the rotten dot com FAQ section:
Q. What’s the story behind that “Motorcycle” pic?
A. We have to admit the “motorcycle” pic has caused a lot of email, it being one of the most disconcerting things people have ever seen. We called it “Motorcycle” because it arrived as motorcycle.jpg, but it is more likely an attempted shotgun suicide. The man lived. An attorney wrote us demanding that we take the picture down, but was unable to provide enough details for us to comply with his request.

I’m new to the edit feature. Sorry.
Ah, thanks for that.

Bolding mine. I wish I had read that part more carefully.
I’m an ER nurse, so I suspect only the combat vets have seen more, details available upon request.
I was also the first to the scene of a skydiving fatality, terminal velocity into blacktop. Again, details available upon request.
