“Stubborn Love”, Lumineers. Was downloading it before I got halfway through the first listen.
“Old Man” by Redlight King. Completely slammed me the first time I heard it; been on my regular list ever since. And I don’t do rappy/hippity-hop/sampled shit.
A younger friend of mine turned me on to La Mer by Nine Inch Nails.
It instantly became one of my favorite songs. The video is done by a fan (apparently) and it isn’t bad either.
Up, Up and Away - Kid Cudi
“Recovery” by Frank Turner. That young man has a way with the lyrics.
“We are Young” by Fun. That lasted through about three listenings. But it was fun while it lasted.
“Get Lucky” / Daft Punk
“Black Sheep” by Gin Wigmore. Listen to it now!
A young guy at work introduced me to the genius that is Emilie Autumn. I damn near fell off my chair.
*Hannah *by the Freelance Whales.
Not that it’s been 3 years since I instantly liked a song I heard; I just heard this song for the first time a few weeks ago even though it was released 3 years ago.
She’s extraordinarily talented, isn’t she? It’s been awhile since I’ve listened to any of her stuff, maybe I should get an album.
Lordi - The devil is a loser
The video sells it - classic stuff - not complicated - with a killer tagline -
The devil is a loser and he’s my bitch
I wish I could get the song to play…
Darby O’Gill – Finnegan’s Wake. My computer is glitching, so I’ve tried twice to link to the Youtube and failed. Grrrr. Anyway, the snide comments on the side are hilarious.
“Leviathan” by Tangerine Dream
“Lightning Bolt” - Jake Bugg - from the Gatorade commercial (thank god for Shazam)
Dave Nachmanoff’s Thing of Beauty. Link is to him and Mike Lindauer performing it at a house concert.
I liked the song so much that I got his permission to change the last verse somewhat and performed it for SWMBO when she and I got married last April.
Blurred Lines is a fun little groove.
Got me dancing immediately!
