What's the male equivalent for "crazy cat lady"?

Crazy Cat Lady-trope on TV Tropes

A recent article on animal hoarding.. Be warned, there are pictures. It is not pretty.

The term “Crazy cat lady” still applies to any man with more than two cats.

I saw a Hoarders show on animal hoarding, featuring a guy and his rats. I think rats are cool and all, but we’re talking him bringing in a couple of rats and just letting them go at it. The whole floor teeming with rats, walls filled with rats. :frowning:

TV Tropes has “Homeless Pigeon Person” which is an extreme example (homeless) and usually a man.
Claude in Heroes was one.

See Peter Sellers in*The Wrong Box*.

Whilst tossing and turning all night last night having to share my twin mattress with … an embarrassing amount of cats … I had the following revelation:

1] Little old ladies with a few too many cats is fairly unobtrusive … just don’t talk to her or eat her oatmeal and there’s no threat … it’s cute to call her a CCL

2] Big burley construction workers with just a few too many cats, an anger management problem, and several guns … okay, this is not cute, this is dangerous … maybe not wise to call him a CCL whilst he’s polishing his 30/06 rifle …

What do you call the male equivalent of a CCL? … I’d start by calling the local neighborhood watch group, make sure senior and disabled services knows, maybe a call into the DA’s office … just some suggestions …

Reminds me of the interview skit…

“Let’s check your resume… Hmm… Intelligence, 5; strength, 6; …healing, 5?? Ummm, this is a Dungeons and Dragons character, right?”

“Yes.”

“Do you have any demonstrable team or leadership skills?”

“I once lead a team of elves and dwarves on a quest to kill a dragon. It takes a lot of skill to manage dwarves…”

“Why are you even here??”

“My dad owns the company.”

“OK. You’re hired.”

Disclaimer, I did not read all of the previous posts. Yet, I will guess no one else has my answer: DAD!

He was my FIL. He fed at least 30 cats. They all had names & distinct personalities. When he passed ten years ago, I inherited the cats. Thanks, Dad! When I moved them out to the farm, my four “farm cats” got overrun! They settled it out & as time has passed, the herd thinned out.

I am currently feeding two “barn cats”. I could use two more, but I am in no hurry as some “townie” will drop off their cats at my driveway soon. It usually happens in the spring time.

I legit used “I help run a competitive tabletop-gaming league” on my resume when applying for a job that included management tasks ; and it came up in the interview so I got to explain how dealing with the schedules & personal issues of 80+ geeks is a lot like herding a murder of particularly antisocial cats ;).

Didn’t get the job in the end, but they hired me for other stuff so I figure they didn’t take me for that much of a giant fuck-up
