It lasts up until he stops by a store window a little ways away, and a little girl takes his hand to go with him, looking back at me wide-eyed.

I participated in the group killing of baby bird when I was 5 years old. Some kid at the park had found a baby bird and we put it in the middle of the black top and circled it and just threw things at it until it died.

I had not really thought about it much in the last few years until I saw “Eternal Sunshine Of the Spotless Mind”… Jim Carrey’s character regresses to a childhod memory of being egged on by other kids and killing a baby bird with a hammer. I started bawling in the theater. This must have been insanely confusing for my boss who I went to the movie with. (I had just left the job so she actually wasn’t my boss anymore and this really wasn’t a date but still WEIRD! for her.)
