A link to some Tarantella versions.
The Napoletana Tarantella is most familiar to me, it resembles “Funiculi, Funicula”, kind of.
Reading this thread caused me to sing a few bars and then throw out my right arm and shout “Hey!”
I’ve been assimilated.
Here is a web site with mp3s of three different tarantellas. The stereotypical spaghetti-mixing one is the Napoletana Tarantella (the first one).
The Russian one is called “Kalinka”. See it in action here
Maybe it has additional names, but I checked the hopak clips and they look like what I had in mind. The Kalinka song also has that stereotypically Russian feel.
