So I put up a couple of websites-one is a virtual store and the other is a personal site. How do I go about generating traffic?

I’ve registered them with the major search engines. I refuse to spam and I’ve told all my friends, co-workers, etc. I made up some flyers that I’m going to pass out at a major outdoor performance, but that is about as far as I’m willing to impose on people.

So dopers, what is the next step? Walk around in a sandwich board?

Try asking other sites to add a link to you on their page.

Put your personal page (which I assume has a link to the paid site) in your profile. I know my personal page is the first link you get on Google when you type in my name, simply because of the hits I get from the board.
